The SMA inverter I use offers a standard Modbus interface which can be accessed very easily from OpenHAB.

Dynamische 70% control

In Germany there is a rule that a maximum of 70% of the energy generated can be fed into the public power grid. In most cases, the system is cut to a flat rate of 70%.

In my setup, on the other hand, the total power consumption is constantly measured and calculated based on how much energy may be generated so that, minus self-consumption, no more than 70% ends up in the public power grid.

This model means that much less electricity is wasted.
